Ambience Factory created satirical advertorials for Artists Newsletter #1: The 1980s, as part of our residency with Black Hole Club. We created a ‘SELLOUT IN 7-STEPS’ programme to encourage people to embrace productivity, commodification and self-interest in the art world. This is a comment on an ever growing competitive arts world where we are often expected to do more with fewer resources, and expected to be ‘resillient’ in the face of precarity and a lack of fair pay and representation.
The publication, Guest Edited by Black Hole Club and designed Keith Dodds, explores topics from artist’s working rights and identity politics, to activism, digital arts practice, and accessibility. This is thee first of a new series of magazine style publications celebrating the a-n archive.
