AI: Gestural Syntax, 2017

I explored the ethics of advanced AI surveillance technologies in public spaces with Collusion, Cambridge, to develop a gestural syntax experience with an AI. I was chosen for my playful and physical approach to distilling complex conversations around the future of AI on our day-to-day lives. I was supported by leading scientists in the fields of AI, Cambridge Consultants, to help assist the feasibility of the neural networks that would create a game of Charades between a participant in public space and an algorithm to physically teach people about machine learning, and to use this open access point to talk about difficult issues surrounding pervasive surveillance in public spaces and the ability of predicting crime.
